Hey guys! So i build a PC with the following specs
CPU - i5 2400
MoBo - MSI H81M-E34
RAM - 8GB (4×2) Corsair Vengance 1866MHz
GPU - 1050ti
The computer turns on and all the fans start spinning. But i get nothing on the screen. Its just black. My monitor doesnt detect it. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

More insight on what ive already done.
- made sure all the cables from the power supply are plugged into the motherboard
- made sure the Monitor and the cable im using are working
- tried plugging in the HDMI cable directly to the motherboard instead of the GPU as well as completely removing the GPU while lugging in directly to the motherboard
- swapped out both RAM sticks in the motherboard with two other RAM sticks to make sure it was not a problem with the ram
- removed the CMOS battery for a minute and reinstalled it

Solution

it's likely you have some bent pins in the socket.
well if your getting no POST with the GPU removed and the video plugged into the motherboard, did you try a CLR_CMOS?

if that doesn't work then it's probably a dead motherboard or shot CPU, those are the two parts that can cause the problem you're having.

How do a CLR_CMOS? i dont have that tool and i quickly googled it and it said i can do it with a flathead screw driver. is it okay for me to do that when everything is plugged in?

So on page 23 of the manual which i am going to link (http://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/467038/msi-h81m-e34.html?page=23) it shows how to clear the cmos. But when i got back to page 11 to see where the pins are it does not show me. Am i not reading this properly?

Touched both pins with a flat head to clear the cmos. still no post. here is the FINAL hunch i have and im curious if you think this is possible. this mobo is a used mobo. could it be the resolution of the previous user was different? maybe i will not see a black screen if i plug it in via VGA? unfortunately i dont have anything with VGA or a VGA cable but before i go through the trouble of getting an old monitor with one. Could this be a possibility?

Did you tried to replace the CMOS Battery ?
I had this problem and it was solved when I replaced the battery... she was dead so yea try to replace the battery and if it still not posting th MOBO may be dead.
