Hey guys, good morning , i got this sort of a question, atm i have fresh new SSD and 500GB SATA HDD, which do work fine, i also found out i had this 250 gb HDD , on which i suppose to have some files that i may need, i tried to plug this SATA HDD , but when i started PC it wont pass through the BIOS screen whilst the old HDD is plugged, if i unplug the HDD it works just fine, is there anything i can do , to boot PC while the old HDD is connected?

what are your BIOS settings? does it look liek this?
* SATA mode AHCI
* Boot mode UEFI/CSM disabled

im still confused tho about your situation
* old HDD -- still have old OS with your data. and you want to format it? is it okay to delete all your data in your HDD?
* new SSD -- installed win10 while attached to SATA1 without the old HDD. now you are trying to attach old HDD into SATA2 port but wont boot.

is the above correct?

Here is the whole situation, before i bought SSD i had 500GB Regulard HDD, which is now placed in SATA 2 port, my new SSD is in 1st SATA port, those two work perfectly, but I have another HDD which i was using before i bought 500GB one, and i want to connect it to my PC , when i plug it in ( in any SATA port and connect power to it ) PC won't boot pass BIOS, when i unplug this old 250 GB HD, Windows starts perfectly, like this old HDD is doing something to PC and won't let it boot, but BIOS sees this HDD

maybe your old 250HDD is damaged already. and BIOS cant load it. do you have a SATA to USB adapter? you can try checking if the 250HDD is still okay.
it could also be your power supply. it takes 25W at most for 1 HDD to power. how much watts does your PSU handle?

just make sure your BIOS is like i said in the previous post and your boot priority and your hard drive priority BBS is set properly, you should be fine. it will be easiest for you if you have a SATA to USB adapter so you can check your old HDD directly.

if you want to format your old 250HDD, run your USB win10 installer. on first screen press shift+F10. in the command prompt do the following (be very careful):
* diskpart
* list disk
* select disk <the old 250HDD>
* clean
* convert gpt
* exit

restart and see if it can boot now.
