wanting to upgrade from my i5 2400 for gaming and wondering if I should wait, upgrade to ddr4 system or a ddr3 system. I want to play games like wolfenstein and prey

I agree with the above poster.

Save your money for a more modern system.

Hopefully in 2019 the ddr ram prices will drop to sane levels, and by that time the graphics card shortage due to mining will have run it's course.

I'm hoping that ebay has hundreds of GTX 1070's 'lightly used' when the mining boom crashes, and that I can pick up a graphics card so cheap that the rest of my system won't break the bank.

I know it's hard, but for right now, wait and you'll get a better deal and better technology and ultimately a better system.
