Morning, All,

Will a Swiftech Apogee Drive II and a single 120mm radiator provide decent cooling for an I5-4690? This is going into a tiny Fractal Design Node 202 case and there is just not enough height for a decent big air cooler...There IS room for a second 120 rad, but I really would rather use the space for something else!

TIA,
Larry

The Apogee might be too tall to fit. I cant find its height online but it does look like its quite a bit taller than the io and the node 202 only supports cooler up to that approximate height. If it does fit then that will work just fine. Given that your CPU is non-K it should remain silent even under load if you configure it right. Also, you will need to modify your case to allow the tubes to pass through to the other chamber. Quite the hassle...

My goodness....please read my initial question again! A decent aircooler does NOT fit! The Apogee Drive II will fit with a bit of massaging of the top fins. I can put the rad in the same compartment as the motherboard, so, unless I must add a second rad tube routing is not a big deal!

Back to what I asked: is a single rad with the apogee drive II sufficient?

I'd be surprised if it does fit with the loop without massive customizing but I will say that the Node 202 does support coolers up to 56mm.

Two air coolers that would be more then enough for that 4590 would be this Cryorig & Noctua.
