Computer freezing regularly

My Computer has been freezing frequently for a minute or two. This initially was happening when playing games like Assassin's Creed Origins, which is pretty demanding considering my build. But even on lowest settings, framerate is low and freezes are frequent. Recently, freezes are happening regularly outside of games (i.e. browsing using chrome or using vlc media player).
I've run memtest, and run a stress test using MSI Kombustor and have looked at MSI afterburner. I haven't gotten any messages that say anything is wrong, but admittedly, I don't fully understand the results.

My build:
Win 10 64-bit
AMD FX(tm)-8350 8-core 4GHz
GeForce GTX 780
16GB Ram

Any recommendations on tests I can run, or on what the problem might be would be helpful.

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

I used MSI afterburner to monitor while running an MSI Kombustor stress test.
CPU min 30C Max 65C
GPU min 42C Max 84C

Definitely longer than a few seconds. Anywhere from 1-3 minutes.

Done. Everything says passed, though I'm not doing anything exhaustive on the computer right now. Just some web browsing and using MS Office (although I've had freezes when doing this in the past).

Anything specific I should be looking out for?

I've looked several times in the past and again just now. I don't see any particularly weird behaviour or processes.

Part of the problem is that when the computer freezes, I can't open task manager, or if it's already open it stops updating.

Are there any signs that this could be a CPU, memory or GPU failure? Even a hard disk failure?
