Hey all, ok so i'm going to get an i7 7700k and i need a a cooler for it but theirs where the problem lies. I have no idea what i need. The main things that will be stressing the CPU is playing games, no rendering stuff and things etc.

I will also want to overclock the CPU but this is something i need help with as well so i would need a cooler good for an overclocked chip.

The case i have is the Zalman z11 (for dimensions and stuff?)

budget is like £60 ($85) and under

thanks for reading : )

Cyrorig H7. Probably the best budget cooler there is, no RAM clearance issues.

It looks like you can also afford a Noctua NH-D14, however I have no idea how good it compares to the D15 (often crowned the king of air coolers) or if there is any RAM clearance to worry about, with the D15 there is so any RAM with a tall heat spreader will not fit.

Cryorig H7 ~ 40 pounds
Noctua NH-D14 ~ 60 pounds

H7 is not good enough for serious OCing.

It actually is fine for OCing, the difference between the best coolers and the mediocre ones a few degrees. 7700k runs much hotter than any other chip I know of as it is. A delid would be much more effective than going for a VERY slightly better cooler.

But these do show the Noctua NH-D14 and NH-U12S are both better.

So best would be NH-D14 but it has RAM clearance issues and is about 60 pounds
The NH-U12S has no RAM issues and will be about 55 pounds
The Cryorig H7 has no RAM issues and will be about 40 pounds.

The difference between them will be a few degrees.
