The other night I accidentally switched the psu on my desktop. It turned it on and off at least 20 times before I remembered. My computer still turns on and loads everything up except for when it shows the windows (I have windows 7 professional), it only shows 2 of the windows 7 colors as dots and the makes a weird sound. Then it loads up startup repair. After a while it finishes but says nothing is wrong with it, which I then restart my desktop and it does the same thing all over again.PLEASE HELP IM THINKING ABOUT RETURNING IT AND GETTING A NEW ONE SO PLEASE HELP ASAP

Shouldn't affect any hardware other than storage. The 115v-230v is AC input. Regardless of input voltage, the output is DCv. By switching to 230v, with a 115v input, psu won't work. The only way I can see any hardware damages is if the psu in question is very poor quality with barely any protection or protections set far too high, and allowing an off/on spike through.

Whether or not the psu is still usable or has sustained any damage itself is another matter entirely.

The multiple off/on while loading stands an extremely good chance of toasting data though, definitely would wipe everything and start all over.

What do you mean, you accidentally "switched" the PSU? Also, are you referring to the toggle switch found on the back of many PSUs ("at least 20 times" comment)?

Sounds like you possibly corrupted the primary storage device (HHD or SSD) with all of the shutdowns.

What exactly did you do?

How many good quality PSU's do you see without voltage sensing?
