I’ve currently a i7 2600 non k cpu and a very old MOBO, 16gb 1600mhz ram, SSD evo Samsung 500gb and a gtx 1070

I’m wanting a i7 7700k cpu build with ddr4 ram 3000mhz either 8gb or 16gb, cpu cooler, a really good MOBO to OC and a atx case big enough for cpu cooler as many are pretty large.

Please post your suggestions below that you would recommend from experience!

Budget £600-550
Much appreciated.

well, you really want to go with coffee lake. i5-8600K is slightly better than 7700K and of course i7-8700K is much more.
so here is an example of decent build for overclocking that also looks nice
CPU: Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor (£227.94 @ Aria PC)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler (£62.75 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£148.28 @ Box Limited)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LED 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£183.59 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £622.56

Well, here’s what I got. In terms of ram, I went with 8 gb because price of ram is a bit high for the time being, and with mobo, it should allow for more ram to come. Win 10 really only needs 8 for most things (except heavy multitasking and video editing). Otherwise, hope you don’t mind extra 10...pounds, quid, not sure what UK currency is called.

Only thing I'd suggest changing is the RAM - RAM is one of those things that for the most part quantity is better than quality; you'd get more bang for your buck with 16gb of 'slower' RAM than 8gb of faster RAM.

See here; https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/xhM323/kingston-memory-hx421c14fbk216

Here's a video explaining why! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_Yt4vSZKVk
