So I've run into a problem at my college and I'm very frustrated with the IT department. I love to play this game called Rocket League, but for some reason IT won't explain, it is blocked on the network. They told me that I "wasn't alone", and that they "believed" it was blocked because of some "technical restrictions." which they refused to tell me what they were. My question is, if I set up my own modem with one wired connection that only went to my computer, no wireless connection and no other devices, ONLY my computer, would I basically have my own single network just for my PC that would allow Rocket League? I have diagnosed for a fact that it is the school's network blocking the connection. I could connect to 0 games while at college but connected flawlessly at my house and played for a couple hours. You need not worry, I already checked the rules about having your own routers, even though I'm not setting up any wireless routers, I just want one wired connection for my PC. Would this work?
