Intel Core i5-8400 vs. i7-7700

Probably the most difficult choice between Intels to make right now. We are talking about gaming and possibly streaming. I have 2 options (which will cost the EXACT same amount of money):

1st:
Intel Core i7-7700 with ASUS PRIME Z270-K mobo (8GB RAM).

or

2nd:
Intel Core i5-8400 with AORUS Z370 mobo (16GB RAM).

If I go for the second one, I'll be able to buy 2x8GB DDR4 RAM.

I am not looking to overclock my CPU, that's why I went for the non-K i7. Do you have experience with these processors? Which one do you think will work better and last longer? Thanks!

For gaming and streaming at the same time 6 cores will be better. for pure gaming FPS 7700k will be better by maybe 5/10 frames. The i5 option is the way to go as you get an up-gradable pathway and double the ram. If you need more fps at a later date sell the i5 to subidise the purchase of an i7 9th gen when it comes out. (Thats if intel don't change the socket! :))
