Hello Everyone,

I am about to upgrade my RAM and I just want to make sure I dont do something stupid. I was going to get
CORSAIR - Vengeance LPX 2-Pack 16GB DDR4 DRAM Desktop Memory Kit - Black ddr4 2666.

Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

System
AMD ryzen 5 1600 3.2 ghz. 6 core
MSI B350 TOMAHAWK
G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card
EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Not a good idea. Your chances of success are less than 100%.

1. Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards, particularly AMD can be very sensitive to this.
This is more difficult when more sticks are involved.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.

2. The kit you already have installed is a different brand and speed.
It is unlikely they will play well together.

3. ryzen is very picky about ram.
If you want a total of 32gb, buy a single 32gb kit and plan on selling your old ram.
Also, take the time to go to the g.skil or Corsair web site and access their ram configurator.
Enter your motherboard and you will get a list of supported kits.

Yeah i was wondering if i could just have all 4 running but i can grasp that there would be an issue. So if i were to buy the exact same kit from g.skill that would still be a bad idea?
