Hello everyone,
I am looking to upgrade my GPU from an ASUS Radeon HD 7770 (2GB) to either an RX 580 (8GB) or a GTX 1060 (6GB). I wanted to ask for your opinion on which card to go with. I was hoping to "future-proof" the graphics for about 2-3 years. Do I need more than 4GB of VRAM? I game at 1080p, and probably won't upgrade to a 4K display until my next build (hopefully 2-3 years).

Also, I just checked for bottleneck using The Bottlenecker. According to the calculator, there is an average bottleneck of 76% (and recommended is 10% or less). What are your opinions on this calculator and bottleneck itself? It also recommended an RX 570.

System Specs:
Ivy Bridge - i5-3570k @ 4.2Ghz
24GB DDR3 RAM (2x4GB and 2x8GB)
Radeon HD 7770
1x SSD - 240GB
1x HDD (5400rpm) - 2TB
ASUS Z77 Sabertooth Motherboard

Thank you all!

For 1080p I would say 6gb should be sufficient, the gtx 1060 will give you slightly more performance vs the 580.

And did this bottlenecker say your build would bottleneck the card? because that's not true at all.

If you are sticking to 1080p and you're not always trying to max the settings, 3gb(1060) or 4gb(580) will get you by. Right now cards cost a lot of money, going for 6 or 8gb is going to cost you and you might not even see any benefit from it. That 7770 is not a bad card but for a system like your it's seriously underpowered.

Yes, it stated that the 7770 was not powerful enough for the CPU.
Thanks!

That's true. The prices are just ridiculous. I'm guessing that's thanks to the miners. I don't care too much about playing on Ultra, really. I would like to play AC: Origins and Ghost Recon Wildlands on at least Medium though.
Thanks!
