First post for me but how you can help.

I’ve upgraded one of my sonsPCs to a GTX1080Ti and now have his old GTX980Tias spare. The question is is it worth upgrading my other sons PC with this 980Ti or just sell it?

He plays mostly low demand games but does play some on his Oculus.

His current set up is:
Asus z97 mobo
i5 4790K (though it’s not being overclocked)
16GB RAM
Palit SuperJetStream GTX1060 6GB
PSU is a Corsair CX 550W - which is a worry of mine if I swap.

Is it worth swapping given his usage and will the PSU cope?

Any thoughts much appreciated!!

A 980 Ti is roughly equivalent to a GTX 1070. It's stronger than a 1060 by a fair amount. Still using one myself at 1440p. The CX 550 is cutting is close though. It's probably enough without overclocking but it's closer than I'd recommend.
