GPU Update: I have a 6y0 PC in good working order that I would like to get another couple of years out of. It main build features an Intel core i7 860 2.8Ghz CPU; Biostar TH55B HD 6.0 PCI Express 2.1 x16 motherboard; Enermax 650w revolution 87+gold PSU; Radeon HD 5450 GPU. I would like to upgrade the GPU to obtain better resolution graphics with something along the lines of Gigabyte AMD RX560 4GB PCI 3.0 x16 GPU.
Will this type of upgrade work or do suggest another solution?

Electronically the 560 uses PCI3.0, but that's backwards compatible and will run on your motherboard that has 2.1, no worries.

Physically you gotta watch out that the 560 is a double slot(card height) GPU where the 5450 is a single slot. There's no slot above the GPU slot, but do you have a really big CPU cooler that might get in the way?
And those RAM sticks, will they be in the way? They come down to just above single slot level, by the looks of it. Your choice of 560 might be restricted by card length. Best get in there and measure that to make sure.

Many thanks for your speedy response. Having heeded your advice I have taken the measurements of the existing GPU and when compared to the proposed RX560 dimensions I am reasonably satisfied that it will install without contact with any surrounding items on the mobo. Just in case I have been assured by the supplier that if I encounter a problem I can return it for a complete refund (if undamaged) within 14 days.
I am very grateful for your advice.
