Hello everyone,

I just finished building my own PC with The Asus Rog Maximus VIII Hero LGA 1151 and I have a question regarding where is the best place to install the pump header and the radiator fan. I have google and find too many different solutions, was wondering what is the best solution installing this on this particular motherboard.

The 1st time I installed it, I plug the Corsair h60 pump header into the CPU_Fan header, and the Radiator Fan into the Chasis_Fan header.

But then I notice this particular motherboard have it own fan header label Pump_Fan. So I was thinking install the Corsair H60 pump header into the Pump_Fan instead, then the Radiator Fan install the CPU_Fan header. I think doing this can able the Radiator fan to spin faster or slower depending on the CPU Temperature?

- But doing this cause a bootup error "CPU Fan speed error detected!" The motherboard recognized it as there is no CPU cooler. I can fix this by going into the BIOS and Disabled CPU Fan Speed, but is this a good idea or not?

Solution
The fan needs to be a 4 pin PWM fan to plug into the CPU fan header.
Plug the pump into the CPU header then go into BIOS and make it run off 12 volts all the time instead of it lowering the speed to CPU temp.
