I got a gaming PC a couple months ago and everything has been working fine. I can play triple AAA titles with no problems. I have been playing modded minecraft recently and have been getting skipping and low FPS along with freezing on loading up. I don't think the mods are anything over taxing and I have changed settings to try and get better FPS and no skipping or freezing. Also nothing else can be running while trying to load minecraft or the computer with lock up. Below are my computer specs and thanks your in advance for the help

CPU- Intel Core i7-8700k @3.70 GHz
GPU- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
16GB DDR4
111 Free space on C
2.04 TB free on E (Game storage)

My niece has a nice system and she plays Minecraft a lot. She's always tinkering with mods and will occasionally load one that will greatly slow down Minecraft(every now and then one will cause Minecraft to keep crashing). You are going to have to experiment with turning certain mods on/off and making sure you have the correct version of the mod(and Minecraft) required for it to work properly.

Ok I took out all the mods and was still having the problem with 100% utilization and lag and skipping. I checked the performances tab in task manager and only saw one core was running. I checked the bios and it had enable all cores. I then checked another setting and it had an option checked that only had one core working. I changed that option and now it’s running Minecraft perfectly with no lag or shutters or crashes. Utilization on the cpu is around 60% using all cores . Do you see any problems with doing this in the long run? Thank you
