My pc has been working fine for some months now until these past few days where it has decided to randomly heat up. It doesnt matter what im doing and i cant seem to provoke it myself but my cpu just shoots up to 90 degrees and my pc shuts down. My temps are fine overall other than these randomly spikes in heat. They occur maybe one to four times a day. Ive changed thermal compound and replaced fan and removed dust but it still persists. Any advice?

Cpu: fx 8320 3.5ghz
Gpu: crossfire rx 480
Psu: evga supernova 850 p2
Motherboard: asus m5a99fx pro

I am unable to view individual core temperatures. Just the socket and core temp. Both are fine until it randomly just spikes and heats up.

Update:
So it turns out my cpu socket and core temps somewhat slowly rises by maybe 1 degree every 2-3 seconds when it's about to overheat. The core temp reached 73 degrees and the socket was 68 degrees and then it cooled down surprisingly. This happened while I was creating a windows 10 installation media.

This was the problem. My 212 fan was kind of really slow. Temporarily switched it with my case exhaust and my problems have solved. Thanks
