My system specs:
Intel core i5 6500
Kingston hyperX DDR4 16GB (two sticks)
MSI ARMOR GTX 1070 8GB
Corsair CX600 PSU
3x SATA HDD drives
MSI B150M bazooka motherboard
I've got a problem, today I just got a new intel core i5 7600k and wanted to swap out the i5 6500 that previously powered my PC. However after installing it and booting the PC up, the monitor showed nothing, the hard drives also showed no activity. Now I had prepared for the CPU swap, I updated the motherboard BIOS to version I.A0 which should allow compatability with 7th gen Intel CPU's plus when I swapped back to the i5 6500 everything worked perfectly again. I'm starting to think the 7600k CPU may be faulty, I took a close look at it and found this:

The yellow contact points on the CPU are somewhat darker and more bronze-like in the marked areas, I tried scrubbing it off thinking it was dirt, but it stayed on, on the old chip (i5 6500) there is nothing like that, the points are all shiny and clean. Could this be a sign of damage? Is this why it dosen't work? Help a guy out.
