I have been trying to get into pc gaming and don't know a thing about what goes with what and how to build one, I want to run new and older games at 4k or 1440p at 60-100fps I would also like to have the graphics settings at the MAX, I would also like to be able to play VR games at a stable frame rate and at max settings, I would also like to emulate games, I don't have a budget I was planning on saving my money for the pc, I would really appreciate someone going along with me to find the parts and where to buy them.

Solution
For that you would need a top of the line system. Coffeelake cpu and mobo, gtx 1080, and a bigger psu. Check out pcpartpicker.com. You can choose the parts you need and puts them into a list for you. Some parts I would recommend...

CPU: i7 8700k
Gpu: Gtx 1080 (possibly Ti version)
PSU: Corsair tx750m
Case: Basically anything from NZXT, Corsair, or phanteks.
Memory: anything from crucial, Corsair, or g.skill that is ddr4., probably 16gb of it for you.

Edit: if 4k, choose this one. If 1440p, choose vapour’s
