i have an amd opteron 1381 2,5 ghz quad core cpu and i have asrock 785gm-s3 with the newest bios. The motherboard shows and is able to overclock the cpu up to 2,6 ghz, but after that it becomes extremely unstable, i tried higher cpu voltage but it only a bit. I saw there are more cpu settings for overclocking but i dont know any of those, since they didnt exist before and cant see on any motherboard today. Any Help?

You may have just gotten very unlucky with that CPU. If you can overclock in the BIOS, then it is able to overclock, 100%. I honestly don’t mess with overclocking, as it decreases the life span, and I dont think that’s worth it. Reset the BIOS and use the default clock speed.
