Hey Everyone,

So I recently just updated my bios and when I looked at my memory is showed like 8125 or something but still have 2 sticks listed in their proper slots. When I started up I ran dxdiag and got

System Model: MS-7A34
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor (12 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM < G.Skill Ripjaws V series DDR4-3200
Available OS Memory: 8144MB RAM
Page File: 3662MB used, 12674MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS <-SSD
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled

Miracast: Available, with HDCP
Microsoft Graphics Hybrid: Not Supported
DxDiag Version: 10.00.16299.0015 64bit Unicode

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce GTX 1080
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC

Im i just misunderstanding something or is a stick bad?

Sure. The best way to test might be try with each stick at a time. If each stick works in all slots but one, that's a bad memory slot. You can choose to work around the bad slot or RMA the board.

@schiztech the images on the msi forum are exactly what i see. In the upper right corner it shows only 8 giga, the center only shows 8 as well. When you check in windows though you see 16 and i havent seen any reason to suspect a failure when running tests.
