Hi
I've put all setting to max in 1600*900 I'm getting any where between 40-60
but i've seen youtubr videos with the same card getting 100fps on 1080P Max setting!

Is there anything wrong with my card ? Or am I using wrong in-game setting?
I also noticed changing in game setting does not affect fps noticeably! i.e, turning fxaa off didn't improve at all!

I've bought the card second hand / should I be concerned that I've gotten a faulty unit ? / what is normal fps I should be getting with this card?

any help and recommendation is highly appreciated

thanks

I forgot to add : Cpu is ryzen 1600
8 GB Crucial Elite 3200MHz (BUT runs at 2133Mhz , since it goes to a boot cycle when I enable a-xmp) any help in this regard?

Solution
What are your Cinebench scores as asked.?
Try a different monitor that has HDMI and set resolution to 1920 x 1080.?
Your RAM as tested and running at 2133MHz should not be the issue.
Your CPU at stock frequency should not be the issue.

A series of stress tests will determine if hardware is defective. I use AIDA64 for stress testing, download AIDA64 and give it a try.

Are there any other symptoms that show up in Windows besides the 900p res.? Your card certainly is capable of 4K resolution. It's as if your connection for graphics is connected via integrated GPU.?

Have you tried any other games besides GTA V.?
Have you made any changes at all in Bios.?
What is your PSU.?
Based on your components....you should be getting 60fps+ @ 1080p on near all games. I have a 980ti and play 1440p at awesome settings.

I think you need to investigate what is causing issues. Monitor GPU with MSI Afterburner. And check speeds/temps/more.

900p with those components is ridiculous. You should be getting insane 1080p with awesome settings.

GTA5.exe benchmark completed, 17512 frames rendered in 339.438 s
Average framerate : 51.5 FPS
Minimum framerate : 32.2 FPS
Maximum framerate : 269.8 FPS
1% low framerate : 32.3 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 27.0 FPS

these are the results which baffles me

I don't know what's holding back the fps

I've tried reducing settings

I tested once again and result were even more ridiculous

27-01-2018, 15:12:54 GTAVLauncher.exe benchmark completed, 10120 frames rendered in 339.422 s
Average framerate : 29.8 FPS
Minimum framerate : 29.4 FPS
Maximum framerate : 30.2 FPS
1% low framerate : 25.4 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 24.2 FPS

??????????????????
what is wrong , I can't find the victim here

this gta v is steam original version , not pirated | someone said pirated one gives better fps but I can't play online with that , so that's out of the window

MERGED QUESTION
Question from adreno420 : "Abnormal framrate with EVGA 980Ti SC"

HI
thanks for answering
I'll try it as soon as I get the chance

the benchmark results were for gta v

__________________________________________________________

alright It already was set max performance
the gpu alread runs at 1300Mhz and temps get high enough already , I don't wan't it to get any hotter . besides I've seen this card get 100fps average on gta v at 1080p in youtube but I'm playing at 900p !!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
Is there a chance that something might be wrong with the card?

It's too early to tell if something is wrong with the card. Could be the driver.

I Installed the driver from the nvidia / downloaded from nvidia and installed offline manually

Could be from the monitor?
could be from the the dvi to vga converter that I'm using?(since the monitort neither has DVI nor HDMI )

could it ber ram frequency ? (it runs at 2133Mhz)
CPU usage is at %50 and temp 60 for some reason its clock won't get past 3.4GHz
gpu usage fluctuates between 50-90% / temps are 65C at 75% load

???
I'm helpless / it's my first time building a pc and I really was hoping not to confont sth like this / If I can't fix this I'm gonna think about selling it because It's really getting to me (everything I buy has somekind of defect)
