gpu usage drops, cpu usage increases

my specs :

case : NZXT S340 Elite
mo : gigabyte B250M Gaming 3
cpu : Intel Pentium G4560
gpu : Gigabyte 1050Ti
storage : WD Blue 1TB
PSU : Corsair VS450W
RAM : Hyperx Fury 1x8GB 2133Mhz

i recently just finished playing gta v and noticed that my game stutters A LOT so I monitored it using CAM. I set everything to normal and saw my game only stutters when my gpu drops from 90 fps to 1 then back to 90 and my cpu is 100%

i heard that the cpu is the reason. What is the actual problem???

yes, youtube and a few other tabs. But i'm planning to upgrade this cpu to an i5 7500. Will this solve my issue?

That is whats causing your issue. If you're going to play a demanding game, shut down anything else (especially Google Chrome).

The i5-7500 will be a noticeable improvement.

games like shadow of mordor (gpu intensive) doesn't make my gpu usage drop. The usage is stable and no stutters occur even though i have background running. Is this a sign that the cpu is the problem and not the gpu itself?

Yes, as I said, you are CPU bound. That game is just not that hard on the CPU.

CPU bound games are going to cause you issues with stuff running in the background, because your CPU is only dual core.
