7.1 surround gaming headset on stereo motherboard?

I have to the dell precision t3500 09KPNV motherboard and want to use a 7.1 gaming headset, specifically the Corsair VOID Pro RGB USB https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-VOID-PRO-Gaming-Headset/dp/B0748ND2HV and I read that usb headsets have their own sound card so would my stereo motherboard be able to play 7.1 surround sound in games? Thank you.

The head phone connects by USB and has it's own sound card which means it doesn't rely on your motherboard to play sound.

Bottom line - yes, you’ll get simulated surround in your setup.

The headset has a built in sound card (and uses the cpu to process). Your onboard sound is irrelevant.

Yes, it will be simulated 7.1. Probably a little nicer than stereo but don’t expect miracles from a $50 headset.
