I purchased a netgear a6210 wifi dongle thinking I could use it to create a wifi hotspot from my windows 7 desktop pc so that I could get wifi web access from phone around my home.
It doesn't work.
So can anyone recommend a wifi dongle which can create a local hotspot from my PC?

Note: I am using a draytek VigorNIC132 to connect to internet and do not have an external router hence the nee for a wifi dongle.

Thank you.

Pretty much any will work fine to set up an ad hoc network and you can enable Windows ICS (Internet connection sharing) that does pretty well to create a hotspot, although a program called Connectify will let you do a lot more configuration.

One of the issues is that you want your phone to just connect (and not use a static IP), and that is where Connectify is excellent instead of ICS. You can do a trial of Connectify to see how well it works.
