Thanks, all for reading. I am pretty experienced, but am stumped.
Running Win 7 84 bit, with 8GB RAM on a build I did 3 years ago. Max RAM usage (per Task Manager) has always been 2.7-3 GB range. Computer crashed last night and shut off. Today, running really slow and I am getting Microsoft Win 7 warnings to "close programs" even though I only have Firefox running. Check Task Manager and my RAM is clocked up 99% usage. Eventually, Firefox crashes and shuts down. Checking Services and Process in TM shows nothing unusual at all. Using Malwarebytes and KingSoft AV. Ran scans with both (ran slower than normal) and they didn't find anything.
After last Firefox crash, I let TM Performance run a bit (4-core Intel i-5) and RAM dropped to about 23%, but then ran back up to 99% with NO programs running. CPU was going nuts - maxing out at 100% usage - up and down. See the screen shot.
Any ideas? It seems to me something bad is running and cannot be detected.
Many, many thanks for your consideration and input!

Solution
In the event you can't get anything uploaded because of the RAM issue:

Windows key -> msconfig -> enter

On the general tab, select "selective startup" and then unslelect "load startup items". Hit apply and then reboot. See if your RAM usage is reduced by opening task manager and nothing else. If it is then a startup item is to blame.

Estimable
Open resource monitor, go to the memory tab, sort by working set (largest at the top) and post another screenshot please. Do the same for the CPU tab, sort by CPU for both processes and services.
