Cpu disable turbo boost

This is my first thread-

I built my pc yesterday, first time using AIO water cooling. So I turned on my favorit game pubg using a I7 7700k. As I look the watercooling fans started going on max and the temp was rising to 50 celius and I got worried. I dont want my cpu Overclocked Please dont tell my why not and I can benefit with better performance. I am happy with a 4,2 ghz. How do I turn off the turbo boost to 4,5 and stick with the 4,2 only. I dont want it overclocked. And i want my fans on quiet at a good temp while I play any game on a ultra settings. Is it possible or do I have to worry all the time and get tortured by the stupid fans. Please help me out.

Turbo boost is not overclocking. Turbo boost is a NORMAL function and behavior of the CPU as designed by Intel. If you have to worry about turbo boost being enabled, you have other FAR more serious problems.

50°C is not something to be worried about. That is within normal operating range. Anything up to 65°C on a stock configuration is fine. Anything below 80°C on an overclocked machine is STILL within spec, although it would be higher than you'd want to see it actually running at for a long time.

If your system goes past 70°C or is IDLING at 50°C with no games or applications running, THEN you might have a cooling issue.

No water cooled system is going to be quiet. Fans and pump noise are the norm with an AIO and if you don't like that you should sell your cooler and get a good aftermarket air cooler. Much quieter overall.

Also, you may need to manually set the desired fan profile in the bios for your CPU and case fans. The default profile is likely to be a lot louder than necessary, but I'd make sure your cooling range is ok before doing that.

you can also look at it alternatavely. the cpu was made as a 4.5ghz chip but @4.2 it saves for longevity. darkbreeze is right. turbo boost is a function of the cpu, not a secondary function like overclocking. the operating frequncy of your chip is 4.5ghz.
