Will my boot drive work in a new computer?

I want to take my boot drive from a pre-existing computer and use it in a new one. Will it be plug and play, or will I have to reinstall and possibly have issues?
(GPU is staying the same as well as ram)
(CPU upgrade from 2009 architecture to 2012)
Both HP OEM systems

Windows does not like you doing that. It works, occasionally, but most of the time it won't even boot, or if it does, it is riven with problems. Do yourself a favor and wipe the HDD (DO NOT WIPE SSDs!!!) and do a clean install of the OS from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

That is a 100% maybe.
Even if it works, with an HP OEM license, you will have activation issues in the new hardware.

Thanks. I just don't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling all of my programs. So a larger boot drive is fine than. I will still try it however just to see.
