I gave up a long time ago building one after my current one lived longer than expected. I am finally gathering some $$$ to make a new one. I know I want at least 1070 preferably a 1080 and i-7 coffee or kaby. I haven't done too much research on mobos or cases. Planning to get a water cooler and 500 GB SSD and 3-4 TB HD and totally want 16 gb or above after living on 8GB for years...

So, when are GPU prices and RAM/SSD prices going down? I don't watch the market and it's really bad because my main desktop bricked... I don't have anything to play on...

Its impossible to predict when that will happen.

If your system is bricked it may be a different story. You will probably have to overpay for what you get, but with diligence it can be done.
It is worth noting, that at this point in time some prebuilt PCs are actually a better deal than custom (as much as it pains me to say it)

That's painful to hear. It's a old alienware (before i knew how to build and ignored all warnings) I don't have the parts to test if the ram sockets are blown so I had planned to say f*ck it and just build a new one. It's sad to hear that the prices are shit right now.

I was just mentioning my old computer that bricked. It needs new ram but I can't tell if ram sockets blew or not. I just figured move forward at this point out of that ddr3 lga1150
