Hi, I wan to build a new pc, and I`m on a budget, so I need help choosing the best parts to get the most of them, so far I`ve chosen these parts: Processor Ryzen 5 1400, Mobo Asus rog strix b350-f, 2 sticks of 4gb ram at 3200 MHz corsair vengeance, PSU evga 500 w 80 plus, hdd 3 tb seagate 64mb cache, case thermaltake ca-1g1-00m1wn-00 and for the gpu I want a gtx 1060 but most likely I`ll get the 3 gb version due to my current budget, so is this a good build, or should i change some parts? will i get the most of their performance? I want it for gaming at least at full hd and maximum settings, games like tekken 7, dishonored 2, xcom 2, RotTR, and the upcoming soul calibur 6.

Solution

that would probably be a good starting point

so a gtx 1060 3gb should be enough gpu wise

a ryzen 1400 might be too weak for locked 60 fps though

max budget and location?

1080p max settings requires at least a gtx 1060 6gb and depending on game a gtx 1070 with at least an i5 or better

you need to increase your budget or lower your settings expectations

You`re right, I know that max settings needs a better equipment, I would be satisfied at least with high settings, I`m in Mexico, and my budget would be the equivalent to $750 usd that is around $15,000 mxn. And specifically the reason of getting a new pc is for the upcoming soul calibur 6, this game is the one that at least want to play if possible in max settings, I know that right now there is not any info about the requirements but it seems it would be like Tekken 7.

Thank you Maxalge, so should I go for the 1600 instead, right? and for the rest of the parts, I mean, I can stretch my budget out a little bit more, about 100 usd more, so do I keep the same for the rest of the parts?

im curious

would a i3 8100 + 8gb 2400 ddr4 + z370 mobo be close price wise to the 1400 + rog b350 mobo + 8gb of 3200 ddr4?

pretty much the same, the difference is about $15 usd more for the intel mobo choosing a similar to the rog b350, about the ram and the processor are quite the same. should I go with intel instead of amd?

yes, a nice bump up in performance for not much more and a very good balanced cpu for your 1060
