Can I run 2400mhz ram on 2666 processor

So, intel have released their 8th gen processor.. I want to buy a i5 8400 but this is 2666mhz ram supporting processor.. can I run a 2400mhz ram with this processor ??
(I have Corsair vengeance 8gb 2400mhz)

You can. There are two cases here:
- on motherboard that does not support RAM OC, such faster RAM will run at 2666
- on motherboard that does support RAM OC, you can (usually) make the RAM run at its rated speed
But right now case one does not exist for 8th gen, as all motherboards that support 8th gen CPUs also support OC.
