Hello, so I am planning to completely reset my computer just because I have a load of junk on it and I just simply want a fresh install I want to install Windows on my SSD which is all fine and dandy however my hard drive is almost full (It's 1TB btw) I want to get more storage and my first thought was buying another TB hard drive however is this the best way to go about things? Should I just simply destroy my current hard drive and just by a bigger one (Like 2TB as an example) instead of adding a new one?

Thank you in advance.

Solution
There's a lot of different ways to go about this.

The cheapest route would probably be to buy another mechanical hard drive (like a 2TB or something) and just add it onto your system.

Though your case may not accept having 2 mechanical drives or you just don't want to deal with that many drives.

But trashing the current hard drive would be a waste especially if it still works.

Since you already have an SSD for your OS. you can just buy an additonal hard-drive for your pc (as long as your MB supports more than 2 drives). There won't be any difference in load times in games and etc. as long as both hard-drives are met with their recommended requirments (ex. both running on 6gb/s sata3)

Thank you for the fast response, one more question, does it matter if I add a different hard drive to the one I currently have so like for an example one from a different brand?
