Soo, i overclocked my 1600x to 4.0 Ghz and ran Prime 95 for about 30 minutes to see how hot it gets. The core temp goes to about 64°C, but the package Temp hit 86°C. I checked this with HW Monitor and i know there is a 20°C offset. So I tried it with Ryzen Master, but it showed me 86°C too.

Should i be worried?

the package temp is the CPU temp in HWmon. 86c io too high. You have too much voltage which is generating too much heat. Back the clockspeed off, and/or voltage if you have to. I woldn't want my proc running over 80c for sustained periods.

If you achieved this OC with Ryzen Master, therein lies your problem. It uses auto settings to OC and so the voltage will be sky high to help it achieve 4ghz.

If you OC in the bios, you can get the voltage and temps low, and the clockspeed high with just a few settings change. Not all chips are the same though. I've mine at 3.9 1.3v. It's sits about 75c on stress with Prime95 small FFT's. Ryzen Master is a decent utility, but for messing around with. Not for long term OC's.

I already have a 150W TDP cooler and my core temps are completely fine. I'm not running my CPU at those speeds all the time, i am just concerned about the disparity between the core temps and the package temp.
