I'm trying to find a good motherboard can support M.2 PCIe SSD's (to boot from, as well) that can also house my CPU, which requires an LGA 1155 socket.

Any recommendations?

Solution
OK, that would put you in a minority of special use cases. There are good m.2 AHCI SSD that can work though an adapter, like the above poster said. An NVMe drive might work as a storage volume but a newer generation of board would be required to boot off an NVMe drive.
Also, the SSD you choose wold have to be SATA as opposed to NVMe, since a board that old wouldn't have BIOS support for booting from NVMe. It wouldn't really make a very noticeable difference in performance from an SSD with standard SATA III connection either.

Why do you think it wouldn't make a noticeable difference?
PCIe SSD's are 10x faster than SATA.

Would I also need to get a different CPU for it to be noticeable?

There are differences that look big in benchmarks but when it comes to real use, the difference between what may be a fraction of a second and a smaller fraction of a second to do the same thing isn't all that perceptible.

I appreciate your input, but the program I use makes heavy use of my disk drive, more than anything else.

Yes, I was afraid of that. Oh well...I simply do not see the point in getting such a drive if I can't run my OS and programs and boot off of it.

Hi, If you use a Samsung 950 pro with an M.2 PCIe adapter card you can boot from a non NVME motherboard. I am.

It would be helpful if you supplied a link to an actual procedure, instead of hoping someone will find a viable link, instead of all the crap online.
