So, as the title states, I have 2x4gb ram sticks; but I tend to use Adobe programs(mainly After Effects) quite often which takes up quite a bit of ram alone. I would like to get more ram, as my fellow video editor friend has stated the more the merrier since Adobe programs consume so much ram. I'd definitely would like to get as much as I can get my hands on, as I hate waiting for the ram previews taking so dang long(btw I'm also open to suggestions to help me get my ram previews to load faster).

I personally thought it would be better to simply replace my current 2x4 ram sticks for 2x8 ram sticks then upgrade to two more 8gb ram sticks, if possible, or to just add 2x8 ram sticks to make for 24gb and then replace the 2x4 for 2x8 later on, again if possible. What is my best route to take here?

(Also the current sticks I have are Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory)
