Hi,
Soo ive been using my I7-4770k for a long while now and kept it at the stock clock speeds and never realy played around with overclocking it. But since i want to get more out of it then 3.9 GHz i started stress testing it with p95. I checked temps with Core Temps and realised although i dont have the stock cooler on it it went up to 90 C which is a little high. I use a Scythe Katana 3 CPU cooler and wonder if thats just a [strike]shxxxy[/strike] cooler or if i need to refresh my Thermal Paste.
Idle temps are around 40 C

Solution
I'd get something a bit better, depending on your case and budget we can recommend something a bit better. Also with Prime95 make sure your using version 26.6 as the newer versions will overvolt the CPU causing higher temps.

Okay, I will check the internet for a better CPU cooling solution since my Case shouldnt be the problem here.
Would you mind sending my a safe link for Prime95 26.6 since some of the download links on the internet look sketchy to me.

Max Temps on 26.6 dont go over 75 C. I would guess i can play around with OC atleast a bit with that temps?
