so , i bought a laptop recently and used it for gaming mostly for the past 3 weeks , and had an idea last week , "why not try the nvidia gpu without the use of the intel gpu , wouldn't the system just work as efficeintly a it is now?" silly me , i did and the problem started , its not as much of a problem as it seems but , when did use the nvidia graaphics card without the intel one , my average fps on all of my games and mostly anything concerning the gpu has dropped to 10 fps , i did try reinstalling the gpu from safe mode and download it from the program (geforce experince) but , stil the fps would just be 10 in the end , it made me wounder now , am i not supposed to use the nvidia card separatly or is this just an issue with it , when using my intel gpu the system functions normally.
(edit) i disabled the intel gpu , and , if this helps with anything , i tried a gpu stress test (OC scanner x by EVGA) on 8xMSAA 1280x1024 and the fps was at a 45 average , the other applications/games i did try , same results (10fps) as a side note , i disabled the intel as i thought i was keeping it intact untill the nvidia can keep up anymore and then use it , as a way to preserve the performance of it also , my screen turns black whenever im using it now , i couldn't notice it in the past few weeks because oddly enough it would turn black for only .1 sec , so is this all related? should i go back to a windows 7 OS and see the difference? (as some of the answers to some of the graphical problems are used to be solved by doing so)
my Specs:
windows 10 pro (ver 1709)
i7-7500U
8GBRAM
nvidia 920mx
intel 620
1TB HDD
