To clarify, I am not looking for a cheap graphics card, but a graphics card that is selling at or closer to its price before all of the gpu mining and cryptocurrency stuff happened. I have $300 - $500 to spend, and I am looking for either a GTX 1060 at the lower end of this margin or a GTX 1070 at the higher end. Does anyone know of a place where I can do this? If not, is there any idea of when prices will drop back down?

Nobody can predict the cryptocurrency crash. Nobody.

It's unlikely you'd get a deal anywhere.

I'm seeing GTX1060 6GB cards for $650USD that were $280 last year.

Even the GTX1050Ti cards are way overpriced starting at $200USD when they were maybe $110 on the low-end last year.

I appreciate that they're doing that, but I already have all of the other parts in my build, just missing the GPU. I hope that can help others who haven't built anything yet. Thanks!

What resolution are you gaming at. I recently built a system, planning on gaming on a 1060, but when the price went up... there was no way I would take the plunge. I decided to go for the 1050, and it really has been good for me. If your at 1080p, then it will be a great placeholder card... at least until Volta, or prices drop. I've been playing some fairly demanding games on highish settings and they look and play GREAT. Sure you won't be able to max everything out, but in the end... how much does that truly matter. If your on high settings, there is little to know chance you'll care while your playing.
