Hi,
I’m using a h81m-c with g3250. I’m planning of buying i5 4460 , so do i need a bios update for it or should i go with the i5 4440 with no update (not sure about the no update thing)?

Solution
Either CPU you decide to go with, you should always update the bios to your motherboard if you haven't done so in a long time. BIOS updates contain a ton of stability patches and what not, there is no reason for you to just decide not to update the bios of your board. Incase you game, think of it as your graphics card drivers. if you don't update them then there are chances that newer games are not going to run well and you'll end up with a bad experience or won't be able to play the game at all. The exact same goes to your motherboard and it's bios.

I hope this helps

What you need to do is to go into the BIOS as it is now and look for the version it's on.

If it's not a greater number than 0705 then you should update the BIOS.

Even then, there have been many updates since 0705 and you should probably update so that your board can be operating at its best.

Be wary when upgrading though - if you experience things like frequent power loss in your area, I would be careful about updating because if you lose power during the update you'll probably brick the motherboard.

Well when i check in "msinfo32" it shows me BIOS version 2202, 27.10.2014.

The i5-4460 is 0705
The i5-4440 is 0206

I'm not rly into these stuff.. so i need to find the easiest way to change the cpu :)

Thats perfect to hear :) So it's a basic thing to do, right? Open the bracket remove the CPU, put the new CPU with thermal paste and its rdy to go ?
