Hi
i recently bought a 250gb SSD to upgrade my laptop
It already has a 1 TB HDD in which only 330GB is free
I want to transfer my operating system alone from my HDD to SSD without loosing any files in the HDD also the main partition C is the only partition it holds the entire 1 tb so any suggestions idk about cloning as the size is very less in the SSD

Solution
You will not be able to transfer "only" the operating system from the HDD to the SSD. And you will not be able to clone the contents of the HDD to the SSD unless you reduce the size of the contents on the HDD to something less than the size of the SSD.

Your best option would be to install the SSD, disconnect the HDD and do a clean installation of the OS onto the SSD. Then reconnect the HDD and copy your files to an external drive and format the HDD to get rid of the OS on that drive. Then copy your files back to the HDD. Any programs you currently have on the HDD will have to be re-installed on either the SSD or the HDD after you format it. There is no easy way to delete just the OS from a drive.
