My Config:

Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 (F22J)
i7 6700k 4.2 Ghz OC
Gskill Tridentz 3200mhz DDR4 16gb 8x2
1 TB SSD (win 7)
160GB HDD (Hackintosh)
Zotac GTX1070 amp extreme (factory settings)
CM G650M PSU
CM MasterLiquid AIO 120mm
Asus 27inch 144hz Monitor
CM Stryker FT Case

I assembled this PC on 12th Sept 2016 and enabled xmp profile then itself. My RAM temp used to stay 39'c to 43'call the time and never had a problem until last week when i got a BSOD in game (CSGO) and PC restarted then it would give long beeps and keep restarting then I took out both RAM modules and tested them in each slot and turned out one stick is dead. I have sent my Kit for RMA and plan to use SPD clock for the new ones. So XMP will eventually kill the RAM sticks? Or should I have been using cooling solutions for RAM Also for them to last a lifetime?

After going through the forums all over the internet, i see that RAMs are failing alot now days. This is the first time a ram has failed for me in last 25 years. My Previous Upgrade was in 2010 to 4GB DDR2 2GBx2 Kingston naked ones, which were working till i upgraded in Sept 2016, 6 years of continuous use no problem, sold them on olx. I think the heat spreader in this GSKill ram is a useless piece of equipment. Probably a Technique to force the ram to Fail in less than 2 years?! I'll sell off the replacement and buy the Crucial DDR4 2133mhz 8gbx2, naked ones. And see how long they last.
