I have a PowerEdge R710 that refuses to POST. There are three errors on the LCD that I cannot clear:

Fan 1 Missing

Fan Redundancy Lost

Memory not Detected

I've confirmed that Fan 1 is indeed present and working. Error 2 is related to Error 1 so it should clear.

I've populated the server with only 1 DIMM slot in A1 and the error still occurs even with only a single DIMM. These are PC3 8500E 2GB Samsung modules.

I can't log into the IDRAC to reset the errors because there's a password that I did not set and the default root/calvin does not work, and I can't reset the IDRAC without POSTing.

What can I do?

Yeah, I figured that, luckily motherboards for this thing are fairly cheap (less than $100).

I'll take it as a sign I need to upgrade my firewall/rendering server. Looking at the new PowerEdge models, they are sleek. Too pricey though, which is why I had a used R710.
