To preface, I built my pc in 2015 but have upgrades many parts as needed. I changed cpus from an i5 3750k (or something like that, don’t remember particularly well) to an i7 6700k. I’ve also upgraded ram and storage since. The last item I have not yet touched is the graphics card. I have a superclocked gtx 770. I never upgraded because I had no lag issues in my games until this year. As a result i’ve been looking for cheap upgrade options that can still provide good results compared to my current gpu. This has been rather difficult though as the used market, which is usually where I go for good deals, is awful as a result of the cryptocurrency mining situation. Does anyone have any ideas for a new card to get to improve my performance? Ps. i’m completely open to used options or older generations. Thanks!

you did it wrong lol. the old i5 wasn't holding you back and you spent a lot to upgrade as that new i7 required new mobo, and ram... so I'm gonna guess you spent $700 on upgrades that did not increase your FPS.

that's the past. were here to help you.

GPU prices right now are horrid. your other mistake was not buying one then.

typically buying used AMD cards is the best bang for the buck, however right now NVidia cards are possible to find for nearly as much per perf as amd ones. thanks miners...

I don't know what types of games you are looking to play and at what settings to get an idea of what level of perf you should want.

I recently bought an amd fury for $390 after selling my rx 480 for $450. so ultra settings 1080p will cost you about $400 used.

there are no good options right now however.
