My brother in law gave me a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 (the silver and black one) and I was wondering if it's going to damage the motherboard over time, since it's a pretty heavy GPU. The motherboard is Asrock Z370 Extreme4. If so, what support can I get for it?

Thanks.

Solution
No it won't , I have that board and it has reinforced PCIE slots.

PCI-E STEEL SLOTS:

The advanced PCI-E Steel Slots packed with solid cover that prevent any signal interference with graphics cards. It also ensures the heavy graphics cards to be well-installed in the PCI-E slots safely.
