Hello All,

I been dealing this problem for months and I cant seem to find the answer. I hope someone can help me on here. Basically I am getting mad fps drops or lag spikes while I am playing any games on my computer. I am currently playing over watch, cs go, and fortnite. All my drivers are up-to-date. I have attached some pictures by HWmonitor by this order: idle, csgo, overwatch, and fortnite. Please I want to play my games in peace. I cleaned my cpu with new thermal compound and still same issue. update:2/5/2018 I cleaned my heatsink and applied new thermal compound. The shutters goes away for 30 mins and it comes back. Anyone have an idea that can help me? please.

Window 7 pro. 64bit
Asus Maximus VII Hero
Intel I5 -4960K
Corsair H105 water cool
GTX 970

So have you tried defragging your HDD or whatever your games are on because the HDD can slow down processing information if not defragged recently. Or either thats a Driver problem however if you have it up to date it could be that the driver that Geforce downloaded isn't functioning as well.

Hello NoelsTech,

I tried defragged already still same issue. For the driver what do you suggest i do? I used a software called something DUU to uninstall driver and downloaded most up to date driver for my GTX 970. Still have the same issue.

Problem might be in ur CPU cooler....try changing ur CPU cooler
I hv experienced a similar problem in my clients PC ....so I swapped his h110i with a hyper 212 Evo....and it started functioning normally

Did you look at the temps linked? i highly doubt 50C would cause any kind of stuttering.

Or else disconnect all the cables inside ur PC nd reconnect.....I doubt whether this is a case of some loose connection
Also check whether there is some short on ur MB
PSU can also be the reason for this problem....so try testing ur PC with some other psu

@nhyte510 Is this your new computer or old? Its Depends and would make everyone's lives easier because we shorten the problem. And i kind of agree with the Cables with Vexicus and PSU but Motherboards we have these days are quite compatible of facing the problem that it would short.

And Yes @nhyte510 Short out would turn of your PC and lock you out but that means your PSU is not Dead but isn't doing it's job so yeah you are right in a way.

If you have two monitors running but one works it must mean you haven't either plugged it in the correct socket of HDMI... and the rest if you done it correctly then that problem must be the Graphics Card as you Plug every Monitor in.

Hello NoelsTech,

I built this computer around September 2012. Both monitor works perfectly just trying to give you guys more information that I only use one. just an update: I recently been playing/ trying destiny 2 weird thing is i do not experience shutter on destiny 2 but all my other games (overwatch, csgo, GTA V, and fortnite) i have lag/shutter issue. So thats makes it very confusing for me.
