Hi all,

I'm not sure if I am posting in the correct category, feel free to point to a more appropriate one if this doesn't fit.

Basically I am looking for a new computer setup. Up until now, my main computer has always been a laptop. My latest was a 15" Vaio Flip (convertible laptop/tablet with pressure sensitive stylus); I work as a designer, so the touchscreen with pressure sensitive stylus was a very nice feature for graphic work. However, I wasn't completely happy with this setup; firstly because I was rather disappointed with the build quality (especially for the price I paid); secondly because it was a bit of a compromise between mobility, computing power and decent screen size (important for design work).

So I have been thinking of a replacement. I hoped the convertible segment would have become better by now, but am still a bit disappointed with the possibilities. They all do compromise a bit on hardware, at a price you would expect the best. So it got me thinking if I couldn't do this in a different way.

I am wondering if you have any ideas for a setup like the following:
- a desktop or with good hardware to run my graphic and CAD software. (Windows)
- a tablet with a pressure sensitive stylus. (Preference for Windows to keep it in one ecosystem, but Android or iOS would be fine too)
- the possibility to connect the tablet wirelessly to the PC, to be used as a monitor, without loosing the pressure sensitive stylus capabilities.

Basically I would want a tablet with pressure sensitive stylus, that could harness the graphics and processing power of my PC when needed. So I could basically revise work from my couch, or switch to my desk when needing the bigger screen.

Do any of you have ideas on how to make something like this work? I have come across apps that can either turn a tablet into a monitor (without pressure sensitive capability) or use a stylus tablet as input device (without acting as a monitor), but haven't found anything that does both.

Cheers,
Wim
