Is this pc good for 2k gaming?

Solution
It's not advisable right now to build your own as GPU prices are pretty high. Getting a K series CPU is pointless if you don't get a Z series chipset to overclock it. Otherwise you are paying extra for No reason. Dual channel memory only. Don't buy one stick. You can get 2x4. Overall you can actually save money and get more buying prebuilt. I recommend you check out NZXT BLD. They'll build the system for you and charge MSRP on all items including the GPU which is awesome. You start the build with initial settings then you can customize it.

Otherwise, the build you made will work and everything is compatible but it would be costing you more than it...

Don't buy separete stick of ram these can have compatibility issues due to not being tested to work togheter. Always get a set that comes from the same pack as these are verified to work togheter.

That psu is garbage and will break down with the load you are going to put it under. Get a quality one. For the same price you can get a modular seasonic m12evo 520w.

That cooler will not allow you to oc high. It's decent but not enough for what you are aiming for. That is even if you get that far.

The thermal paste you are getting is unnecesary as cooler come with it already and it's quite low quality paste you are getting.

The board you go is not a heavy oc board. A small oc is possible but pushing too much will result in overheating vrms, thermal shutdowns and system instability.

The monitor is just bad. Also if you are just doing 1080p a 1060 6gb is more than enough.

Just so you know but the g230 is hit or miss with comfort due to the small contact area with the head.

well first thing's first. You won't be getting 4.9Ghz on that CPU. Unless you are lucky and get a perfect chip you won't get there. in fact, you won't be getting past about 4.6Ghz if you have a decent chip since going any higher will require you to bump the voltage and that in turn will raise CPU temps considerably and the cooler you have selected will not be able to handle keeping that CPU cool enough to overclock any further.

But even at 4.6Ghz you'll have more than enough CPU power for your games.
As for the 1080, 600w is fine and if you are going to just let the GPU overclock itself with GPU boost then you'll be fine. however, if you plan on manually pushing it further than it's initial boost speeds then you may possibly end up needing a little more juice to be able to maintain it.

but as far as running at 2k (or 1440p if you will) leaving everything at default and not overclocking will get you there at 60fps. as for what quality settings you will need to set to achieve this will be determined by the game and how intensive it is. most games will run fine at max or near max settings above 60fps so you'll be fine.

BUT!!!! If you want to stream while you're at it the this makes things more complicated.
With an i5 you will most likely have to lower quality settings in game to whatever is necessary in order to maintain 60fps while being able to only stream at 720p 30fps. You'll need an i7 if you want to go up to 720p 60fps or possibly 1080p 30fps and this will all vary depending on what game you are playing and the quality settings you have for it which will determine how much CPU power the game will use that will take away from what is needed to stream.

As it is I have an i7-6700k OC @ 4.7Ghz and I have to lower my quality settings to medium in Wildlands in order to be able to stream at 720p 60fps and maintain 60fps in game.
