Is graphics card really needed?

I just built my new PC. Use is general and with my security cameras. I am not into gaming. Built it with core I7-7700 Kaby Lake and monitor is an Asus Proart PA329Q. I am not using a video card. Would adding a video card greatly increase the video quality on my monitor? Also, is using the display port cable better than using HDMI?

Solution
A graphics card won't improve the quality of the image displayed. A display port might improve it. If your HDMI is set to the native resolution of your monitor, then that is as good as it gets.
