Hey

I just built a computer today (specs below) and am running into a few issues. The pc is able to boot fine with just 1 stick of ram, however when the second is added, the pc will not boot/display.
They have been switched around in configurations and still have not worked

Things I have already tried
- Testing ram in another build (ram works fine)
- Replacing with different ram
- Removing gpu
- Altering cables
- Reinstalling cpu/checking for broken pins
- AKA everything we know of

leaning towards either the motherboard or PSU being faulty. Also to note, the PSU is from an older rig, but was working perfectly fine running a 780 and i7 4700k

Any ideas on how to fix this? little tRiGgEreD

Specs:
Asus Rog Strix z370-f gaming
i7 8700k
Asus Strix GTX 1080
16gb 2133mhz ram (only 1 stick working ;( )

Thankssssss

I haven't actually tried a single stick in 3 and 4 yet, will give that a go.

So I just tested a single stick in slot 3 and 4 and both times they didn't boot. Back in slot 2 right now and its fine. Any ideas what that means? faulty board?

My mate and I had a solid look at it, everything looks even and in place where it was supposed to be. No bends or pins out of place.
Anything else that could cause it?

Did that RAM come as a matched pair or separate sticks?

Is that exact model of RAM listed on the motherboard’s QVL?

Did RAM come from an older build? Just wondering as that’s really much slower than anyone here would recommend. 2666 would be starting point with about 3200 being a good target, budget permitting.

Looking at the manual, it looks like slot A2 needs to be populated. When testing with a single stick, make sure you're using this slot or it won't boot (the one on the right). When adding a second stick, it goes in B2 (second from left).
