Hi,

I am facing couple of very peculiar problems.

1. I turn on the UPS, and then I have to hold the power button for a while (sometimes as long as 15-20 seconds) before the computer starts. I guess this is a simple case of faulty power button on my cabinet but want to double check anyway.

2. Then the PC spins idle (case fan is on, CPU fan is on) for a while but no display. Then after 5-6 seconds the PC actually boots and I get a display. After that the PC functions normally.

Can someone please help me with this.

Regards,

Check your BIOS for an option called 'post delay' or similar. To reduce the boot time, you can try to reduce this setting to the minimum. Also check your boot order in BIOS to make sure the drive that you have your operating system installed on is set to #1.

The first problem sounds like a faulty UPS rather than a faulty switch. It seems like it takes a while for it to have enough power to supply the PSU of the system.
